Northern Nevada High Desert

Ride Description:

Friday we will meet at the Chevron a couple of miles west of Marsing.   We will leave at 6:00 p.m.  There is the possibility of moving the departure time earlier or later depending on peoples schedules.  82 miles to Three Forks on the Owyhee River.  We will stop at Jordan Valley for fuel.  146 miles to the next fuel stop Saturday.   Sunset is at 9:14 p.m.  Set up camp and go hit the warm springs.

Saturday we will head over Juniper Mountain to Crutcher Crossing on the East Fork of the Owyhee River. Then on to Owyhee, Nevada to fuel up and have lunch.  134 miles to the next gas stop.  Then  32 miles of twisty pavement to Wild Horse Reservoir.  We hit the dirt 10 miles south of there and it's 102 miles to Wells, Nevada.  Fuel up and head out of town to a hot springs to soak and set up camp.  We may eat dinner in Wells if time allows.  Bring something for dinner at camp just in case.

Sunday we will head out around the east side of the Jarbidge Mountains and pop back into Idaho near Murphy Hot Springs.  Bring something for lunch on the trail.  From there we will decide what route to take home.  If we are running short on time we will probably just take the high speed gravel  "Clover-Three Creek Road" back to Bruneau.  166 miles to gas.

There will be some long stretches of hot dusty roads so bring lots of water or a water filter. Your bike should be in top shape because we will be a long ways from help if there is a problem. Level 4 mainly because of the pace although there will be a few tough spots, river fords, etc.
