3 - Advanced Skills
Level 3 rides will include rutted double track, and uneven roads. These may be rocky and difficult at times. A 1200GS or similar bike will feel heavy in this terrain, and will require an experienced rider. A moderate rider on a 650cc bike will be able to maintain 20 to 30 m.p.h. without a load. Little or no single track will be present on a level 3 ride. You may encounter moderate water crossings (less than knee high). Expect higher average speeds on easy sections of the route.

Ride Description:
Hi all, I am putting together a Steens ride, It will be as much dirt roads as I can get between here and there. Due to the soda fire and any other fire that may spring up, I may need to change my planed route. My plans are: kickstands up at 9:00. we will be meeting in Nampa at Sunrise Inn Cafe. Show up early if you want to eat breakfast. Hit dirt out of Marsing on Poison creek road and work our way to Jordan Craters. From there the back way into Rome for fuel ~130 miles from Nampa to Rome. From Rome take the old ION Hwy South to Whitehorse Rd then to Willow hot springs.

If you are interested in picking up some serious Challenge Sites in central and eastern Idaho, then this is the ride for you. We will visit 28 Challenge Sites in 16 counties in 4 days covering about 1,100 miles.

Ride Description:
This is an ambitious ~340 mile one-day loop to pick up the challenge sites in three counties. We will visit Trinity Lakes, Carrietown, and Red Cloud Mine in Elmore, Camas , and Blaine counties respectively, as well as each of their courthouses. All the roads should be paved or good gravel (level two) with the exception of the last 1.75 miles into Red Cloud Mine, which is a two track (probably somewhere between a level two and three). Mainly, what makes this a level three ride is the distance covered in the time allotted requiring us to move

Ride Description:
About 23 miles as the crow flies but w/o the comfort of wings. Beginning at Hemmingway Butte off-road rec area heading south, the first half will be ATV or single track trails mostly. We hit Rabbit Creek Rd. about midway, turn right, go about 3 miles to Black Mountain parking lot on the left, turn left there, and continue south on Rd. S300 (4WD road for lack of a better description) to New York Summit on the main Silver City Rd. From there, we turn right and go just a couple miles to Silver City. 40% chance of thunder showers at Melba. Probably worse at higher elevation around Silver City.

Ride Description:
I have come off the fence, and decided to go to the Jamboree, on Friday morning. Meeting place yet to be determined, depends on who wants to go and where they are coming from. I'd like to leave the area by about 8:00 am. I plan on cruising up through Emmett, Sweet and Ola highway to 3rd finger, Sheep creek, Crane rd, and wander into Midvale, Cambridege and hwy71 to Hell's canyon, Hess rd to 39, (I think due to construction we will have to take 66), and on to Enterprise.
